What Do I Do If My Keypad Says "Low Battery"?

Posted by Gary Gagna on October 24, 2012 at 12:45 AM

If you do not have any wireless devices, then the main battery backup in the control panel will need to be replaced.  These batteries generally last an average of three to five years.  Call our office and we will schedule a service call to replace your battery.

If you have wireless devices, the keypad will indicate the low battery next to the zone that is in question.  Depending on the manufacturer, some of these batteries are lithium 3 volt batteries and some are AA batteries.  These batteries also generally last for a period of three to five years.  Call our office and we will schedule a service call to replace these batteries and check the device for proper operation. If you decide to try and replace these lithium or AA batteries yourself, call our office (928-522-8516) or our central station (800-525-4829) to put your account on test (preventing false alarms).  If your panel just states "low battery", the main battery backup in the control panel will need to be replaced.
